My interest only decreased after I played the PC version of Revelations, an RE title that many people praised for bringing the series back to the roots of the fourth game. A game that I remember seeing every five minutes during Gamespot’s 2005 awards show but never bothered to try. However, there was also the possibility that this might have to do with my other gaming sin I hadn’t played a single minute of Resident Evil 4. Yes it was loaded with quick time events, yes it wasn’t even trying to be scary and yes it was dumb – even by Capcom standards – but RE6 didn’t feel like any other game on the market. Resident Evil 6 went even further in this direction of high production qualities coupled with B-Grade presentation. The flaws were easy to overlook when I was busy falling out of my chair laughing at how the main antagonist would say “You… CANNOT HIDE!” Resident Evil 5 is a weird game but that’s what made it enjoyable. Its gameplay had a nice amount of tension, broken up with cutscenes and dialogue that was so bad it was hard for me to look away from the screen. A friend of mine purchased it as well so we could play co-op and while I haven’t played it in a while, I remember it being a fun experience. I bought Resident Evil 5 when Steam had one of its sales. According to many people on the Internet, this is something to be ashamed of.
